The ZOOM8 racing yacht was launched in 1992 in Finland by designer Henrik Segercrantz and immediately caught the attention of professionals. Firstly, the ZOOM8 closely resembles a real yacht in both appearance and handling. Secondly, it can be raced by sailors aged 9 to 19. This fast, safe, and lightweight yacht quickly gained popularity in Europe.

One of the main goals in building this boat was to provide an opportunity for young athletes who can no longer race in Optimists or other classes to continue improving their skills. For beginners, safety is, of course, the top priority: a double-sandwich hull with built-in 150-liter buoyancy tanks makes the boat unsinkable. Thus, by combining safety and speed, the ZOOM8 was born.
